Shanta Kumar for tough action against Larji project officials

BJP veteran and sitting Kangra parliamentarian Shanta Kumar has slammed the state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh decision of “giving clean chit” to Larji dam authorities who had released the water leading to the drowning of the engineering students.

In a press conference at Dharamshala, BJP leader rebutted Chief Minister decision of giving clean chit to water releasing authorities without even waiting for the investigation results.

Shanta Kumar termed the Beas tragedy as a murder and asked government and project authority to book responsible officials for culpable homicide.

Shanta said that Tourism in Himachal Pradesh had been badly affected due to the incident. Besides this, bus accidents had become common. There was something wrong with either the policy of the government or governance, he alleged.

Talking about the political scenario in Delhi, senior BJP leader said to avoid re-election for Delhi Assembly, there is no harm if a government could be formed with the collaboration of the elected MLAs.

On the issue of removal of Governors appointed during the UPA regime, the BJP leader claimed that the new Centre Govt is not exerting any pressure on the Governors appointed by UPA government.

Shanta Kumar also rubbished reports that the BJP-led NDA was planning to topple the state government. He assured work in coordination with the Congress government in the state for the development.
