A real estate project, close to Himachal Pradesh state secretariat, has come under the scanner with Shimla Municipal Corporation as it found to have felled two trees without taking prior permission from concerned authority. It’s learned that this project is being executed by a HP legislature.
The housing project came under the scanner for green violations on Sunday night when Shimla deputy mayor Tikender Panwar received a call in midnight about felling of trees in the project area. Soon a civic body team comprising deputy mayor, divisional forest officers and cops reached the spot and found two stumps buried under the muck.
Tikender Panwar said that authority will initiate strict action over these violations. Shimla municipal commissioner Amarjeet Singh said that trees in the area are being counted and tallied with the map. As per the preliminary report of DFO, two small trees (B4) have been felled, he added.
He stated that after assessing actual damage further action against the violator would be taken.
