Shimla: To ensure comfort travelling to the passengers, the HPTDC introduced two new Euro-4 compliant Volvo buses, the first of its kind in State.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today flagged-off the buses that will ply on Shimla-Delhi route.
Buses are fitted with separate USB ports with each seat for mobile/laptop charges. Besides, the passengers will be provided free wifi internet service on the go.
The passengers will be able to ensure their preferred movies/songs out of multiple collections, which can be accessed on any handheld device through wi-fi network of the bus. Limited number of mobile tablets, earphones and mobile chargers will also be available in the bus, which will be given to the passengers on first come first serve basis for which no additional charges will be applicable.
The Chief Minister appreciated the creative designs with images of Himachal Pradesh on both sides to promote tourism of the State.
Managing Director, HPTDC Dinesh Malhotra informed that new entertainment facilities were being provided on trial basis and if found successful, these facilities would be extended in other buses of the Corporation as well.
Chief Parliamentary Secretaries Vinay Kumar and Rohit Thakur, Vice Chairman, HPTDC Harish Janartha, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
