To ensure employment opportunities for the job seekers, the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) is organising of a ‘Job Mela’ at Banuti (near Ghanahatti) in Shimla Gramin constituency of Shimla district on 24-25 June, 2017.
A State Government officer said that the objective of this job mela is to introduce youth to career related courseware and job profile as per their qualification and interest. The given opportunity will be further availed to mobilise the youth for the forthcoming Skill Development projects such as PMKVY, DDU-GKY and Flagship programme of HPKVN.
In addition to this, the HPKVN will be organising a Trainee Felicitation Programme for the candidates, who have completed the training under HPKVN’s pilot training program and have been placed in jobs relevant to their recently acquired skills. This applaud and recognition to ex-trainees who have been suitably placed will go a long way in motivating other youth of the State to undertake skill development trainings aimed at providing them employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
He said the targetted beneficiaries for this mela would include students studying in school (for 1-3 level courses) to have skill subjects, the students studying in higher level (for 4-5 level courses), school dropouts and unemployed youth and BPL, SCs, STs, Tribal Handicapped youth. Besides, ITI and allied technical institutions pass out students (aimed at upgrading their skills), college going students (B.Voc. degree courses and G Job courses) and youth interested in self-entrepreneurship would also be able to avail its benefit. He said relevant stakeholder departments, training support providers and industry associations involved in training and placement have been roped in this programme.
These departments and organizations will set up a stall for their respective department highlighting the various programmes and accomplishments besides highlighting skill development and entrepreneurship development programmes for their respective departments.
