Chairman, H.P. Wool Federation, Trilok Kapoor, is on Australia’s visit with a delegation from Himachal Pradesh visited wool handling and selling company Australian Wool Network at Bathrust, New South Wales (NSW) along with Ian Sanders, Export Adviser, International Markets & Trade. The company handles 8000 bales per month. Samples are taken from all the bales and get it tested from Australian Wool Testing Authority in Melborne before putting them on auction. All the data recording and handling including sampling is computerized.

Trilok Kapoor also visited Orange Agricultural University at Orange where a presentation about sheep industry and genetics of Australia and World was made by sheep breeding specialists Allan Casey. Extensive Livestock Industries, New South Wales Primary Industries Department and Dr. Steeve Semple, Breeding Researcher. The delegation from H.P. India discussed the sheep genetics traits/selection, the progeny recording using RFID technology. During the visit to Molong near Orange in NSW the delegation met sheep genetics farmer who won award for World Champion Merino Fleece for the past eight years.
