Dharamshala: Complementing the tag of most dependable batsman of the state cricket team, Paras Dogra scored double century today at Dharamshala Cricket ground. This is his sixth double century of his career.
Paras Dogra, in a Ranji Trophy Group C match against Tripura, made 209 facing 242 balls and sailed state team to the comfortable 561/5 (declared) and giving safe lead of 276. In his inning Dogra hit 23 boundaries and cleared rope in 6 occasion.
Earlier opener Ankush Bains (114) and Prashant Chopra (101) gave solid 210 run opening partnership. Middle order batsmen Robin Bisht and Nikhil Gangta also contributed half centuries and gave good support to Paras Dogra.
After declaration, spinner Ankush Singh chipped with three important wickets and reduced visiting Tripura to 88/3. Himachal bowlers has good opportunity to get maximum points from the game as a day game is still remaining.
After three games, Himachal Pradesh is on third place with 13 points and if bowlers succeeded to get remaining seven wickets, team will relied to second spot with 19 or 20 points depending on the nature of the win.
At present Saurashtra and Services are occupying top two slots. In the Group C top two teams qualify for the know-out stage.
