Aiming to facilitate the apple growers, the Himachal Pradesh Horticulture department is setting up Fruit Plant Nutrition Laboratory at Thanadhar in Shimla district.
Horticulture Minister will lay foundation stone of Fruit Plant Nutrition Laboratory building on 19 June, 2014. Laboratory would provide free consultancy service to the horticulturists of the area. With this facility, the fruit growers would be able to get the quantity of nutrients examined in their orchards which would further help them in enhancing fruit production capacity.
Thanadhar Fruit Plant Nutrition Laboratory would benefit the fruit growers of Kotgarh, Thanadhar, Kumarsain, Narkanda, Nankhari, Rampur area of Shimla district and Ani, Nirmand and Dalash areas of Kullu district.
So far four such laboratories were operational in the State at Shimla, Kotkhai, Dharamshala and Bajaura.
