Una: To give fillip to the ongoing works of Channelization of the ambitious Rs. 922 crore, Swan River Project, the State Government has announced to open one Division at Haroli and two Sub-divisions of Swan Project at Una and Haroli respectively. Stating this here today, Industries and Information and Public Relations Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri said that the present State Government had put in sincere efforts with strong political willpower to get clearance for the project in a record nine months period from Government of India (GoI).
Agnihotri said that the circle office headed by Superintending Engineer (SE) had already been set up and with opening of one division office and two subdivisions, the work to Channelize River Swan and its 73 tributaries from Daulatpur to Santokhgarh Bridge would gain impetus. The officer of the rank of Executive Engineer would sit in division office at Haroli and Sub-divisional officers (SDOs) will head project offices at Una and Haroli.
Minister said that the State Government had been successful in getting financial sanctions from GoI well in time and the work on the project was likely to be completed within stipulated time. He said that with the channelization of Swan River and all its tributaries, the people would no more have to suffer devastation due to floods and rather they would witness an era of prosperity and development and would be economically strengthened.
