Defending Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh over the charges of corruption leveled by opposition BJP, Excise and Taxation Minister Prakash Chaudhry has tried to turn the table towards BJP and accused leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal for extending favour to HPCA and gave permission to demolish of residential quarters near stadium.
Excise and Taxation Minister asked Prem Kumar Dhumal to resign on moral grounds as leader of opposition. He said that Dhumal has reportedly admitted that he has asked the then Deputy Commissioner, K.K. Pant for taking appropriate action in the matter.
Chaudhry asked Prem Kumar Dhumal to restrict double speak and stop pressuring and threatening officers through media and let them work as per the law. He said that Prem Kumar Dhumal during his tenure kept harassing the officers and peeped into the private lives of the Congress leaders and high officials, adding that he did not even spared the common man and encroached upon their Right to Privacy.
Prakash Chaudhry said that the BJP leaders should understand that Dhumal was only giving favour to his Sons & family members and should rather choose someone with clean image.
He said that P.K. Dhumal cannot escape the responsibility of giving clearance to the Bemloe construction project at Shimla. Dhumal Government got the project approved overnight and released Rs. 32 lakh for construction of forest road connecting Bemloe colony on application filed in the name of dead people.
He advised P.K. Dhumal that holding Press Conferences by him or creating public clamor through the BJP leaders at National and State Level was not going to serve any purpose to hide his wrongdoings.
