Shimla: The meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee, constituted for the implementation of Manifesto of Congress Party was organized here, today. Irrigation, Public Health & Horticulture Minister Vidya Stokes presided over the meeting and reviewed the implementation of various issues of manifesto regarding Health, Public Works, Finance and Electricity. Agriculture and Power Minister, Sujan Singh Pathania was also present in the meeting.

It was informed that vacant posts in various Departments, Boards and Corporations were being filled up on priority basis and more than 18000 posts have been filled up during last one year. The State Government has constituted a committee at state level for resolving the pay anomalies relating of the state employees.

It was informed that free medicines were being provided at Community Health Centers. Free medicines and treatment facilities were being provided to BPL families, widows, single and destitute women and all BPL families have been brought under the ambit of National Health Bima Yojna. Besides, adequate funds have been made available to ICDS, Anganwari and Mid Day Meal schemes. Free medicines were also being provided to BPL families of urban areas under National Health Insurance Scheme and vacant posts of Doctors, Paramedics, Technicians and Nurses were also being filled up.

It was also informed that 370 kilometers new roads have been constructed and 156 hamlets having 100 or more population have been provided road connectivity. E-Governance system has been introduced for bringing transparency in the administration and to make the system more responsive. 96 villages have been electrified under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme whereas the facility of solar power has been provided to 11 villages where normal electricity supply was not possible.

Vidya Stokes directed the departments to implementing the policy document in a phased manner besides speeding up the pending works.

Subhasish Panda, Secretary, General Administration conducted the proceedings. Additional Chief Secretary, Vineet Chawdhry, Principal Secretary, Finance Dr. Kant Baldi, Principal Secretary, Power, S.K.B.S.Negi and other senior officer were present on the meeting.
