Gearing up for the forthcoming General Election, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) organised the meeting of Block Level Observers at Rajiv Bhawan Shimla here today. HPCC President Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over the meeting.
Addressing the Block Observers, Sukhu congratulated all Block Observers for successful organisation of meetings in their concerned blocks and said, “We have received positive reports from all the 68 blocks of the state and we are confident that all our candidates will win their seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”
Congress state president said that on the basis of reports of Block Observers, new strategy to woo voters towards the party will be formulated and the party will take into consideration all the suggestions put forward by the block observers. “Further, we will convey the grievances of the party workers to state government so that these problems are resolved on priority,” Sukhu added.
HPCC President said that it is our top priority to resolve the issues faced by the general public as soon as possible as there have been reports of people not getting subsidy on LPG cylinder on time or ration from depots in a timely manner. “We will request Chief minister Virbhadra Singh to look into these issues and resolve them at the earliest to ensure timely delivery of these services to general public,” HPCC President said, adding that we will ask the state government to increase income limit from Rs 9,000 to Rs 20,000 to grant pension to old age, widow and handicapped persons of the state.
He said that Congress committees at Panchayat level will be formed soon and all the BCCs have been asked to submit the names of workers who will be appointed in these committees to PCC by December 30. HPCC President said
“We will reshuffle those Block Observers who haven’t attended any meeting in the blocks that were assigned to them, on the basis of their performance to further strengthen the party organisation in all the 68 blocks of the state,”
He said that Congress party will organise the meeting all blocks at district level in the coming future to further increase co-ordination among party cadres.
The meeting was attended by HPCC General Secretary Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, CPS Nand Lal, Sohan Lal, Rohit Thakur, Treasurer Surender Chauhan and Block level observers of the party.
