SJVN’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station has crossed 60,000 million units generation. It is a remarkable achievement by any hydro power station in the country. After commencing commercial generation in October, 2003 the power station had achieved the 50,000 million unit mark in October, 2011. During the current year the power station has achieved highest daily generation of 39.14 million units on 29th May, 2013 against the installed capacity of 36 million units. The power station has also achieved the highest 108.30% Plant Availability Factor with optimum and efficient management of the machines and water.
12% of the power generated at this power station is supplied free of cost to Himachal Pradesh while 25% of the remaining generation is supplied at generation cost. The remaining power is supplied to nine (9) states of the northern grid namely Haryana, J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, Uttrakhand, Delhi and Chandigarh. On this land mark achievement R.P. Singh, CMD expressed great satisfaction and congratulated all the employees of the Company.
