For 2012 Himachal Assembly election, Congress president Sonia Gandhi is on her way to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh and will address an election rally in the historic town of Mandi. He will be the first national-level leader to visit Himachal Pradesh for campaigning in the forthcoming state assembly elections.
A large numbers of Congress workers are heading to Mandi town to facilitate their top leader.
To pitch Congress case hard with the electors, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would address a rally in Una town on October 28, while a series of rallies have been planned by the party for general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
For Congress only HPCC president Virbhadra Singh is holding rallies across the state, whereas other big leaders, most of them are aspiring to be Chief Minister, have confined to their respective segment to memorize electors about their existence.
On the other side, BJP has already taken a good stride in terms of campaign is concerned and its state senior or youth leaders are toiling hard to contact with the electors and propagating developmental works initiated by BJP Govt in its tenure. Shanta Kumar has taken a lead in Kangra district, whereas Prem Kumar Dhumal has so far addressed rallies in Solan, Sirmour, Mandi districts. JP Nadda and other party leaders are canvassing in the other part of the state.
To pitch its case hard with electorates, BJP has invited its national leaders to address rallies in the state. Senior most BJP leader LK Advani, Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari are coming to Himachal this week. Even Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is also coming to Himachal for rally.
As many as 45.9 lakh voters will cast their ballots November 4 at 7,253 polling stations across Himachal Pradesh.
