Angered with the ticket distribution in Shimla (urban) seat, senior Congress Shimla leader Kavaljit Singh Ahluwalia has announced to contest November 4 assembly election. Ahluwalia, a senior Congress worker, who had represented many important Congress post in past, including Treasure of Shimla District Congress from 1992 to 2006, General Secretary of DCC Shimla from 2006 to 2009, blamed a section of Congress party for neglecting old and true party workers. He was also Byopar Mandal president from 2005 to 2009.
It is learned that Harbhajan Singh Bajji (former MLA) and Adarsh Sood (former Mayor and staunch supporter of Virbhadra Singh), both ticket seeker from Shimla seat are supporting him. Ahluwalia will file nomination on 17th October. If sources believe Kavaljit Singh Ahluwalia can be a TMC candidate.
With the Suresh Bhardwaj, BJP, Tikender Panwar, CPM, Radha Raman Shastri, NCP in the fray, Ahluwalia’s candidature can pose problem to Congress official nominee Harish Janartha in the poll.
