HPCC chief and top contender for the Chief Minister post Virbhadra Singh said that party interest were above personal rivalry. Singh said that all the 68 candidates contesting the Assembly poll on the Congress ticket were his candidates and he would work for their victory.
Singh filed nomination from the newly carved Shimla (Rural) constituency and while talking to media persons, he said “If I can campaign for Vijai Mankotia with whom I have had serious differences, there is no reason to believe that I will not work for others. He was inducted in the party at my initiative and it was purely a political decision to boost the electoral prospects. I have been assigned the task of bringing back the party to power and I will do whatever it takes,”
He claimed to have a strong resentment among people against the Dhumal government and it would manifest into a pro-Congress wave as the electioneering gains momentum. He believed that Congress will form Govt easily.
He stated that the Congress would ensure justice to employees, particularly the categories like the PTA and para teachers, who had been treated shabbily by the Dhumal government.
