Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal lays foundation stone of Augmentation of water Supply Scheme Saru-Cheema-Udaipur in Gram Panchayat Udaipur, near Chamba. This scheme will be constructed at estimated cost of Rs. 328.25 lakh and benefit over 3,000 populations of 16 habitations in two gram panchayats of the area.

While addressing the people Chief Minister said that State Government has provided financial benefits worth over Rs. 6,500 crore to its employees by way of implementing recommendations of the Pay Commission and clearing arrears etc.., during past four years.

Chief Minister said that the State Government had maintained cordial relations with its employees, who had been instrumental in implementation of policies and programmes envisioned by the State for the benefit of every section of the society, by providing them various financial benefits, due to them from time to time. He said that besides financial benefits ample promotional avenues had also been created to them. He said that on coming to power daily wages were increased from Rs. 75 to Rs. 100 and now to Rs. 130 and Social Security Pension increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 and now to Rs. 400. He said that it was record increase in daily wages and social security pension while the preceding Congress Government had not increased even one rupee in the social security pension. He said that additionally all other sections of the employees had been given enhanced salaries and even public representatives had also been benefited with the enhancement.

Chief Minister sanctioned Rs.10 lakhs for the completion of the N.G.O. Bhawan at Chamba. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dhumal assured the members of the federation that sincere efforts would be made to fulfil their demands in the next meeting of the J.C.C. after deliberations likely to be held in the month of July.

B.K. Chauhan, local MLA, while welcoming the Chief Minister and other dignitaries, enumerated the achievements which had taken place in Chamba during last four years. He thanked Chief Minister for laying foundation stone of water supply scheme.

J.P. Oberoi, Retd. State Govt. employee welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked the State Govt. for taking steps for the welfare of State employees and pensioners. He also put his demands before the house. Tulsi Ram, Speaker H.P. Vidhan Sabha, Renu Chadha, M.L.A., Gandharva Singh, former M.L.A., Ghan Shyam Sharma, Vice-president of State Employee Welfare Board were among others present on the occasion.
