The State Government is launching an ambitious ‘Atal School Uniform Yojna’ on 9th May from Nahan under which every student of Government Schools upto 10th class would be given uniform free of cost twice in a year. This was stated by Chief Minister while addressing the gathering at Haripur Dhar in district Sirmaur today.
Chief Minister said that State Government would be spending Rs. 64 crore on ‘Atal School Uniform Yojna’ in which 10.5 lakh students would be provided free uniform. He said that Himachal Pradesh would be the first State for taking this initiative.
Prof. Dhumal said that the Government was endeavouring to open a medical college in private sector in Sirmaur district. He said that Eternal University at Badu Sahib has also sought for permission for opening of medical college.
He said that the Government had enhanced the daily wages of the workers to Rs. 130 besides providing financial benefits of thousands of crores of rupees to different categories of employees. He reiterated the resolve for socio-economic upliftment of various sections of the society and said that development would be the priority of the Government and paucity of funds would not be any constraint.
Chief Minister said that by opening Sub Divisional Magistrate office at Sangrah a long pending demand of people of the area has been met which would benefit about 75,000 people of the area. He said that as per promises all the demands had been fulfilled by the Government. He said that financial assistance under Atal Awas Yojna had also been increased from Rs. 27,500 to Rs. 48,500 to benefit eligible families.
Prof. Dhumal said that the Government had taken effective measures for women empowerment and provided them 50 percent reservation in Panchayati Raj Institutions and Local bodies. He said that as a result of this 58 percent women were elected in Panchayats. He said that Rs. 17 crore were being spent in all panchayats for construction of gymnasium. Apart from this, such gymnasium would also be set up in Nagar Panchayats and Nagar Parishads.
Chief Minister thanked people of the area for electing Shri Hirdaya Ram Chauhan in by-elections. He said that all possible efforts would be made for development of the area so that it could be brought at par with other developed area.
Shri Sukh Ram Chaudhary, Chief Parliamentary Secretary thanked the Chief Minister for giving priority to development in district Sirmaur. He said that the Chief Minister had fulfilled all the promises and had ensured that the youth of the area get their higher education at their door steps and had opened a degree college at Haripur Dhar.
Earlier, Hirdaya Ram Chauhan, MLA welcomed the Chief Minister to his home segment and thanked him for accelerating the pace of development in Renuka area. He also thanked Chief Minister for opening SDM Office at Sangrah benefitting people at large.
Sant Ram Rana, President, Mata Bhangyani Mela Committee also welcomed the Chief Minister. Chander Mohan Thakur, Chairman, State Cooperative Bank, Balbir Singh Chauhan, Vice Chairman, SC/ST Corporation, Dr. Arun Sharma, Director, Tourism, Shri Padam Singh Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner and senior officers were also present on the occasion.
