A spokesman of the State Election Commission said that the Commission has directed that the preparation of polling station wise electoral rolls in respect of each ward for the conduct of election to the Municipal Corporation Shimla with 1st January, 2012 as qualifying date should be undertaken.
He said that draft electoral rolls would be published on 28th March, 2012 and claims and objections could be filed between 29th March to 4th April, 2012. He said that these would be decided between 5th April to 12th April, 2012 and appeals could be filed within three days from the passing of order by the revising authority. He said that appeals would be decided within seven days from the date of filing the appeals and final electoral rolls would be published on 26th April, 2012.
