In the beautification plan for the Shimla town, Shimla MC is set to facelift the historic town. The expenditure for beautification plan is calculated about Rs.70cr and committee is constituted that is headed by the state chief secretary.
The Municipal Corporation has prepared a Shimla Town Plan with the technical consultancy from Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd. The main emphasis of the beautification plan is to develop parks, parking slots, landscaping and to decongest the old town, and also to improve the transportation system. The asphalt road surface on the Mall Road will be replaced with European cobbled stone patterns. There will be noticeable makeover to the front of the shops and offices on the Mall Road.
