Madhu Sood and Commissioner spat over Bemloe Project has taken another turn as Mayor has resigned from the post of Mayor of the Shimla Municipal Corporation. HPCC chief Kaul Singh Thakur will take final decision on it after consulting councillors. Madhu Sood has confirmed the development and said that she has taken the U-turn as she was under tremendous pressure to do so and would reveal the names of the persons at an appropriate time.
Earlier Sood has alleges the irregularity at the Bemloe Project and objected Commissioner role to give all NOC’s in single day, but later she taken U turn and that received criticism from the Congress. The Congress has been opposing the housing project in Kanlog and demanded a CBI probe into it, alleging serious violations. The matter has been raised in the assembly and now the CPM has also joined the issue and forced the government to constitute a committee who will submit the report to the government.
In the MC Congress has clear majority of 15 councillors out of 25 and BJP have only 8, whereas CPM holds 2.
