Himachal renowned author S.R. Harnot, who has published dozen of books so far, achieves another milestone as his one of famous short story ‘Manav’ from ‘Mitti Ke Log’ titled book is getting translated in English language. Story is being translated by eminent author and translator Dr. Mariola Offredi and she will present it on prominent World Literature Conference at Lisbon, Portugal in July, 2012.
In the story ‘Manav’, author S.R. Harnot has tried to present the human life in 27th century through his imagination. In the story, he said that as human is trying to make colonies in outer space and wanted to get his food and other essential items, for which we are dependent on mother earth, through an injection, tablets or other means, we are ignoring the importance of earth. Manav revolves around author’s imagination.
Author Dr. Mariola Offredi, is known for her work in literature and she was also a former Associate Professor, Hindi Language and Literature, at Ca’ Foscari University of Venic. She is a resident of Italy and is a huge admirer of Hindi literature. After reading few books of S.R. Harnot, she had even visited author’s village Chanawog in Tehsil Suni last year. Prior this Dr. Offredi had already presented a comprehensive paper in English on Harnot’s Hindi Novel Hidimb in Bhutal in a World Literary and Environment Conference.
