Bahra University has announced that it will enroll students who will pass AIEEE test for admissions to its engineering courses. Chairman of the Rayat Bahra group Gurvinder Singh Bahra said that Govt., has proposed to instruct private universities for admitting students to engineering courses through AIEEE for session starting 2013-14, Bahra University would adopt the move the forth coming session, in 2012-13 academic year.
Gurvinder Singh said that for the forth coming academic session, Bahra University would prefer the students who come through the merit of AIEEE test. However, while doing so we would also have to abide by the directive of Himachal government to give admission to maximum Himachal students.
He said that Bahra University has already fixed criteria of at least 60 percent in 10+2 marks for admissions in engineering courses. He also said Bahra University has managed to get maximum package for its MBA students. While all the MBA students of the university have been placed, a student has got a starting package of Rs 18 lakh per annum.
Bahra University is trying to develop academic models in collaboration with industry in the region. Our endeavour is to equip students with technical and academic skills as per the requirements of the industry. For this the university has already signed memorandum of understanding with leading corporate of the country in automobile, pharma and IT industry.
The results of the move have already been illustrated in the preference being given by corporate sectors to the students of Rayat Bahra group of institutes, he said. The group has been also ranked at top in terms of placements by the Punjab Technical University.
