Shimla: SJVN Limited achieved its highest-ever annual power generation of 13,302.390 million units and added 1,730 MW of installed capacity during 2025-26.

Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta, while addressing shareholders at the company’s 38th Annual General Meeting held through video conferencing from Shimla, said the financial year marked significant growth for SJVN, with major power projects commissioned and strong progress recorded across projects under construction.

The company’s consolidated revenue rose sharply to ₹4,722.81 crore during FY 2025-26 from ₹3,376.50 crore in the previous year. Consolidated Profit Before Tax increased to ₹1,200.63 crore from ₹1,111.69 crore, while Profit After Tax stood at ₹641.85 crore.

On a standalone basis, total income increased to ₹3,869.66 crore from ₹3,252.44 crore, while Profit After Tax rose to ₹1,007.90 crore compared with ₹970.18 crore in the previous financial year.

SJVN’s flagship 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station crossed the historic milestone of 150 billion units of cumulative generation since commissioning. The station recorded a Plant Availability Factor of 96.84 per cent.

The 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station also achieved its highest-ever annual generation of 2,108 million units, while the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station generated 310.36 million units, around 17 per cent higher than its design energy of 265.5 million units.

During the year, the 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project achieved full-capacity commercial operation and crossed one billion units of cumulative generation. The 70 MW Dhubri Solar Power Project in Assam was also commissioned.

At the 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project, the 660 MW Unit-I achieved commercial operation, marking SJVN’s entry into large-scale thermal power generation. Unit-II is at an advanced stage and is expected to be commissioned shortly.

Construction activities also progressed on several major projects, including the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal, 382 MW Sunni Dam, 210 MW Luhri Stage-I and 69.50 MW Dhaulasidh Hydro Electric Projects.

The shareholders approved a final dividend of ₹0.35 per equity share. Along with the interim dividend of ₹1.15 per share already paid during the year, the total dividend for FY 2025-26 stands at ₹1.50 per share.

SJVN also spent ₹30.72 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development activities during the year. Through the SJVN Foundation, the company undertook initiatives in healthcare, education, skill development, women empowerment, rural infrastructure and community development.

Gupta said the company has continued to maintain high standards of corporate governance and retained its ‘Excellent’ rating under the Department of Public Enterprises. SJVN also received several recognitions during the year, including the SCOPE Eminence Award in Human Resource Management, Rajbhasha Prabha Award, National Clean Industry Awards 2025 and Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2025.

Providing an update on FY 2026-27, Gupta said SJVN has added another 75 MW to its installed capacity with the commissioning of the 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar. The company’s operational portfolio has now reached 4,271.50 MW.
