Health Minister Dr. Rajeev Bindal said that Kshar Sutra System of medicine will soon be started in Bilaspur, Dharamshala, Keylong, Kullu, Mandi, Nahan, Dehra, Solan and Bharmaur. He directed the concerned officials to initiate the process speedily. Dr. Bindal said that better health services are being provided to the people of the State through 27 Ayurvedic hospitals. He added that Panchkarma therapy was being made available in 17 Ayurvedic hospitals of the State.
Minister added that the State Government has been endeavoring to promote Geriatric health care services in the State. He said that Centre of Excellence in Geriatric health care has been operationalised in Ayurvedic College, Paprola where training was being provided to doctors and paramedical staff of Five States namely Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttrakhand and Jammu-Kashmir. Dr. Bindal said that two workshops and 10 medical camps relating Geriatric health care medical camps would be organized out of these 3 camps had already been organized, said he. He further said camps on Continued Medical Education ( CME) would be organized in August, October and December, 2011, Re-orientation Training Programme(ROTP) in September and November, 2011 and next year in February and March, 2012.
Health Minister said that construction work of Ayurvedic Hospitals in Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti and Solan districts had been completed and will soon be dedicated to the general public.
