Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today raised the issue of pending Himachal Pradesh Sports (Registration, Recognition and Regulation of Associations) Bill 2015 with Governor and urged him to take final call on it.
The Bill is pending with the Raj Bhawan for past six months.
The Chief Minister said that the Governor Acharya Devvrat should either give his consent to the Bill or reject it.
The Himachal Pradesh Assembly had passed Himachal Pradesh Sports (Registration, Recognition and Regulation of Associations) Bill 2015 in April session, and sent it for the Governor approval.
Though the Bill lists a total of 42 sports associations, and claiming to implement democratic set-up and transparent working within the association.
The Opposition BJP has already objected the bill and blamed Congress led state government to control the Himachal Pradesh Cricket association (HPCA). The state BJP had termed the Bill against the spirit of the Olympics as there was no country-level legislation to regulate the sports associations.
The BJP had also raised question over the passing of the bill and had sought to send the bill to the joint select committee of the legislature before presenting in the house.
