Hamirpur: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today launched the new branch of Punjab & Sindh Bank at Hamirpur. This is the 1127th branch of the Bank in the country and 20th branch in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Virbhadra Singh congratulated the bank management for opening its new branch at Hamirpur. He said that banks were playing important role in economic development and trade activities in the country. He expressed hope that this branch of Punjab & Sindh bank would go a long way in promoting agricultural and industrial activities in the area.
Director, Punjab & Sindh Bank, Suresh Thakur said that this was 12th branch of the Bank opened during last one and half month period. He said that efforts had been made to open one branch of the bank in every district of the State.
Senior Manager, Chandigarh Zone Shri Veer Singh welcomed the Chief Minister.
Earlier, Chief Minister garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur.
Ravi Thakur, MLA & Vice Chairman, National Schedule Tribe Commission, Rajender Rana, MLA, Vikramaditya Singh, President, State Youth Congress, Ranjeet Singh, Ex-Minister, Rupesh Kunwar, Member BoD, HPTDC, Yashwant Chhajta, Member BoD, HIMUDA and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
