“The Platform” Shimla based Art, Culture and Adventure Sport Society, Ministry of Culture GOI and Department of Language and Culture HP have organised five days long “Lok Kala Rang Mahotsav 2013” at historic Gaiety Theater Shimla. In this Mahotsav glimpse of rich culture and tradition of Hill region were showcased.
Whole five days, at the open theater of Gaiety Theater, artists from the various parts of the state showcased rich tradition and culture of the Himachal Pradesh. Artists from Nirmand of Kullu District performed historically rich but little known Pahari Ramayan (Boralaj), Artists from Shimla performed Kariyala (a dance form prevalent in Shimla and Solan district), Artists from Una performed Bhora Dance of Una district, performers from Mandi district showcased Bathang Dance of Mandi District and artists from Shimla performed Thoda Dance (Martial dance form of Shimla and Sirmour district).
