The Himachal BJP demanded that state Congress chief Virbhadra Singh should set an example by retiring from politics till he gets a clean chit in the latest kickbacks controversy to which his name is being linked.
In a press conference at Shimla, state BJP spokesperson Ganesh Dutt said that Virbhadra should emulate BJP leader LK Advani, who had resigned from the Lok Sabha till his name was cleared in the Jain Hawala case.
Ganesh Dutt said though there was no similarity between the Jain Hawala case and the Steel Ministry kickbacks’ issue; he should exhibit this kind of exemplary moral conduct. BJP leader quipped that the Virbhadra Singh who has been surrounded by one or the other controversy has today become synonymous with corruption.
