Shimla: The polling was completed for the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on November 9, 2017. The fate of the 339 candidates is now sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The Chief Electoral Officer Pushpendra Rajput confirmed that polling in all 68 Assembly Constituencies concluded peacefully and no untoward incidents were reported from any part of the state.
This elections, Himachal has recorded 74.61 percent voter turnout – highest ever recorded in all assembly elections held in the State so far.
In figures, 37,21,647 electors cast their vote at 7,525 polling stations in the state. Gender wise, 19, 10,582 females, 18, 11,061 males and 4 third gender voters cast their vote.
Great enthusiasm was noticed among young generation and in the remote and tribal areas of the state,
said the CEO.
The highest polling percentage was reported approximately 82 percent in Sirmour district, while lowest in Hamirpur district at 69.5 percent.

The votes will be counted on December 18. Bhartiya Janata Party, as it said in a statement released after the end of polling, is confident of making government with record majority.However, malfunction in EVMs and VVPTs was reported at over 150 booths where people faced some inconvenience.
