Shimla: Him Agri Fresh Private Ltd has set up 5,100 metric tonne (MT) capacity controlled atmospheric store (CAS) at Balghar near Sanj in Theog tehsil of the district.

Pradeep Aggarwal, Director, Him Agri Fresh, informed media that Company using best CA Store technology, which was imported from Italy and Germany.

Company will buy produce from farmers directly and also offering storage facility to farmers on chamber basis on nominal charges. Aggarwal informed that Company charging Rs 1.70 per kg for a month for CAS and providing plastic crates for free to growers to transport the fruit to facility.

Him Agri Fresh also offering automatic grading, sorting, and packing machine which will facilitate apple growers of the region. Apple Growers can sell its produce directly to the Company or can be packaged at the facility to transport to the nearby markets.

Though, it has not disclosed its apple procurement rates, but it’s likely to hot up competition with established Adani Agrifresh, which has CA Store at Sanj and procuring over 25,000 tonnes of apples annually in the region.
