Himachal Pradesh Central University Vice Chancellor Furqan Qamar has offered to resign from his post.
Furqan Qamar, who has been appointed secretary general of the Association of Indian Universities, has already conveyed a request to President of India through the Human Resource Development Ministry to relieve him from his current duties.
Qamar has assumed charge in January 2010 as the first vice chancellor of the university and his tenure is to end in January 2015.
