As expected from past few months Kangra BJP MP Rajan Sushant has resigned from the party and the Lok Sabha seat.
Sushant said that BJP has lost its ideology and been compromising on corruption issues. Rajan Sushant, who was one of the founder members of the state BJP and once touted as staunch supporter of veteran party leader Shanta Kumar, was suspended from the party nearly two years ago for indiscipline.
During the Dhumal regime, Rajan Sushant was quite vocal about his revolt against Prem Kumar Dhumal and few other party members of the State and blaming them for corruption and anti development policies. Initially, the party Central Parliamentary Board suspended him from the primary membership of the party, but he continued his vocal attack on Dhumal and even demanded a narco-analysis test of Dhumal and his then cabinet ministers over corruption. Over this party removed from the BJP state executive.
During the HP Assembly election, it was predicted that He could join Himachal Lokhit Party (HLP), breakaway faction of BJP, and before election even his son Dhairya Sushant was named HLP’s youth wing president. However later Sushant taken u-turn and fielded his wife as an independent candidate in Assembly Poll, which she lost.
With the latest development it’s expected that Rajan Sushant can join Aam Aadmi party and can contest forthcoming parliamentary election from Kangra.
