The Himachal Pradesh High Court directed the municipal corporation (MC) to collect the tax according to the old system.
The HC directed that property owners could deposit tax according to the old system subject to the determination of a new system of levying it and the tax paid would be adjusted if there was a change in method.
The HC directed the Urban Secretary to hold a meeting with the Urban Director, the Mayor and the MC Commissioner and inform it by filing a status report.
