New Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Thakur Sukhvinder Singh presided over the first meeting of office bearers with the aim to chart out the strategy to strengthen the party base for the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
In the meeting PCC welcomed the Rahul Gandhi’s elevation to the vice president of the party and also thanked Virbhadra Singh’s Govt for adopting Congress Party manifesto as government official paper. In the meeting Sukhvinder Singh and his team discussed the organizational working strategy, wherein most of PCC, DCC, BCC members, Ex MLAs, present and previous head of Youth Congress and NSUI were present. Congress state president asked party office bearers to prepare for the 2014 Lok Sabha election and advised them to work as unified unit.
Pradesh Congress Committee in its meeting also took some strong measure for the organizational working and decided to hold a General House Meeting of DCC within 3 month and a BCC meeting in 30 days. Committee also issued dictate for the concerned PCC Vice President/General secretary / Secretary to attend DCC meeting of General House and made clear that if any office bearer found absent consecutively 2 times without information has to report DCC / PCC in writing.
In the meeting, committee also asked the bearers to ensure discipline and warned action with dire consequences if anyone found guilty for breaching party discipline at any level. Committee also advised all leaders to avoid giving press statements which can mar the party image.
