The Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday has handed over the probe into the infamous phone tapping allegations during the previous BJP regime to the state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. Govt has directed state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to complete it within a time-bound period

AP Singh, DIG Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has confirmed the development and revealed that a reference from the Home Department has been received to enquire into the matter of telephone tapping. He added that department was analyzing the information.

Earlier Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had announced a through probe in this case and had announced to take this matter to logical end. He has also announced to take action against involved. Singh had said over 1300 telephones were tapped during the BJP regime by the CID and Anti-Corruption Bureau and permission was sought only in respect of only 34.
