Sudershan Thakur, Udaipur (Lahaul Spiti): After repeated request for last five days, finally critically ill woman patient in CHC Hospital Udaipur of Lahaul Spiti District has been airlifted to Kullu District Hospital. The 52-year-old patient is now admitted in an emergency ward of District Hospital, Kullu for treatment. In the lack of proper medical treatment at CHC Hospital Udaipur the condition of patient was deteriorating day by day and the doctor who was treating the patient had issued a medical certificate and requested district administration to airlift the patient immediately to Kullu. The district Administration sent a request letter to Tribal Development Department and General Administration Department for emergency Helicopter to airlift woman patient from Udaipur but despite that no schedule of Helicopter has been made to Udaipur.
Yesterday Gramin Yuva Sanghathan (an NGO working for poor Tribal people) sent an SOS emergency Fax to Government and requested emergency Helicopter to airlift critically ill patient from Udaipur. After that administration came into action and immediately airlifts the patient along with attached 18 people from Keylong and two people from Udaipur Helipad.
Amar Nand Thakur, husband of patient said that, “we almost lost all hope as condition of patient was deteriorating, in the lack of proper medical facilities back here.
Raju Thakur UP-Pradhan Gram Panchayat Udaipur said that, “That all rural hospital in Lahaul Spiti requiring urgent care at a better-equipped facility, that benefit of evacuating patients by helicopters doubtful, as all helicopters don’t have proper medical equipment’s.
