Vidya Stokes, Horticulture Minister has expressed deep concern over the heavy loss to apple plants due to heavy snow fall especially in Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba and Kinnaur districts. She said that orders had been issued to officers of Revenue and Horticulture departments to assess the loss in concerned areas. The concerned departments would present the assessed report to the State Government which would further be sent to Central Government for demanding financial assistance.
Stokes was presiding over a meeting of officers of horticulture department to take the stock of situation arisen after heavy snow fall. She said that State Government would provide all possible help to the affected horticulturists.
Horticulture Minister said that spray and other essential commodities would be provided to horticulturists as relief. She said that State Government would demand for financial assistance from Central Government to compensate the horticulturists.
