The Governor, Himachal Pradesh, Urmila Singh on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers has dissolved the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly with immediate effect under Article 174(2) (b) of the Constitution of India.
The Governor has requested the present Government in the State headed by Prem Kumar Dhumal to continue in office and discharge its functions till new Government is formed on the basis of results of the Elections already held.
