Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramesh Dhawala condemn the Center Govt decision to increase the Diesel prices and cap on LPG cylinder. In a press statement issued here today said that increase in prices of diesel and limiting the subsidized Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) re-fills by Central Government would further aggravate the grievances of the common people of the State who were already facing the brunt of inflation. He said that Himachal Pradesh being primarily a consumer State was totally dependent on roads for transportation of commodities from other parts of the country and diesel price hike at this juncture would derail the economy.
Dhawala said that keeping in view the steps taken by the State Government to preserve the Himalayan ecology including blanket ban on felling trees, people of the State were dependent only on LPG for cooking food. He demanded the roll back of diesel price hike immediately and also urged the Central Government for providing 12 subsidized LPG cylinders a year per family.
