The Himachal BJP has advised Congress leader Dhani Ram Shandil to resign from all party post after his son, an army officer, was apprehended recently in a “honey-trap” case. Shandil’s son is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Armoured Corps and is posted in Rajasthan. It is learned that he is facing a Court of Inquiry for allegedly establishing contact with a Bangladeshi woman, Sheeba (suspected ISI agent), over social networking site Facebook.

Former minister and currently BJP general secretary said that Shandil should resign from the AICC on moral grounds. Dhani Ram Shandil is two time parliamentarian from Shimla parliament seat and in the last election he lost to BJP candidate Virender Kashyap. During his stint as parliamentarian he had been associated with a number of parliamentary committees, including one on defence, for a number of reasons.
