The State Government has started flights of helicopter for tribal areas during the winter so that people in these areas do not face any convenience due to snowfall.
Secretary, General Administration, Government of Himachal Pradesh Dr. Ajay Bhandari said that the first flight took place from Bhuntar to Stingeri (Keylong) and back. 16 persons were carried from Bhuntar to Stingeri and 20 persons brought from Stingeri to Bhuntar.
He added that schedule of flights for 11th and 12th January, 2012 has also been finalised. He said that on 11th January helicopter will fly between Bhunter-Killar, Killar-Chamba, Chamba-Killar and Killar-Bhuntar and on 12th January helicopter will be sent from Bhuntar to Stingeri and back Bhuntar and Bhuntar to Udaipur and back Bhuntar.
