Food and Civil Supplies Minister Ramesh Dhawala said that due to variation in the total number of ration cards and population, levy sugar, kerosene oil and other products were not being available in sufficient quantity. Minister said that government has started a special drive to check the misuse of ration cards and will cancel fake ration cards. Minister was presiding over a review meeting pertaining to the special campaign that had been launched in the State to check bogus ration cards at Mandi. He directed all the District Controllers and other officers of the department to ensure that domestic LPG Cylinders were not misused for commercial purposes. The Minister directed the corporation to ensure sufficient supply of essential commodities in Tribal and Snow bound areas through out the year, adding that Rs. fifteen crore was being spent to stockpile essential commodities in these areas.
