Former chief strategist of the BJP party, Govindacharya has launched a new political outfit in Himachal named ‘Himachal Swabhiman’. This would be the third political party in the hill state after BJP and Congress. Subhash Sharma is appointed as the state head of the party.
When assembly election is near, it is common in Himachal that atleast one new party pop up with an intension of rooting the corruption. In 1998 election, former congress cabinet minister in PV Narasimha Rao Government, Sukh Ram had formed a new party (Himachal Vikas Congress) and in 2007 election Mayawati had tried to get a foothold here. Now there is around year to go for the election and it is very early to predict the outcome of this Govindacharya party.
