Horticulture is farmers’ backbone in respect of economical growth and government has introduced many schemes to enhance horticulture in the state. MLA Hamirpur Urmila Thakur expressed the views at Salasi in a workshop prearranged in regard to share views for flower growing under Bagwan Milan Karyakram. About 250 progressive farmers participated from all blocks of the districts and got technical guidelines not only from departmental experts but also from the experts of Dr. Y.S. Parmar Horticulture and Forestry University center located in the district at Nari. At this moment 51 farmers got financial backing from the MLA for outstanding works done in the sector. Urmila Thakur told that under Horticulture University at Nari the Bio-technology and Environment department is going to be established. She added that here from this year B.Sc. classes for Horticulture and Biotechnology are also going to start.
