The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has approved about 4,507 km (In-Principle) state roads as new NHs.
The Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemical & Fertilizers Mansukh L. Mandaviya in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today, informed that the project would be subject to outcome of their Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). The initiatives have also been taken up for preparation of DPRs.
He informed the house that Ministry has declared about 246 km length of state roads as new National Highways in Himachal Pradesh from the end of Financial Year 2013-14 till date. With this, the total length of NHs in Himachal Pradesh is about 2,642 km at present. He said that Rs. 171.45 crore has been allocated for the 2017-18 financial year, and in previous financial year the funds were Rs. 210.95.
