Nagrota Bagwan: The two-day birthday celebrations of Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Transport GS Bali concluded here today.
Lobsang Sangay, prime minister of the Tibetan government in exile, presided over the 59th birthday celebrations.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Jagjivan Pal, MLA from Gagret Rakesh Kalia, Congress MLA Karan Singh and Independent MLA from Kangra Pawan Kajal were present on second day of celebration, while IPH Minister Vidya Stokes inaugurated the Bal Mela, and HPCC president Sukhwinder Sukhu and Congress MLA from Ghumarwin Rajesh Dhirmani were also present yesterday.
Thousands of local people turned up for the celebration. In the medical camp organised by the Nagrota welfare society around 5000 patients avail the services of specialists from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Fortis Hospital, BL Kapoor Hospital in Delhi and PGI Chandigarh.
Smart canes, developed by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, were distributed to the visually impaired people and free medicines were also distributed on the occasion.
A blood-donation camp was also organised on the occasion, in which thousands of donators voluntary turned up for the event.
Birthday celebration also featured cultural events, in which many celebrities of film industries participated.
