New Delhi: Hamirpur MP and BJYM National president Anurag Thakur wrote to Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh and asked him to immediately send a proposal for establishing Himachal Pradesh High Court bench at Dharamsala to the central government so that he can take the matter to its logical conclusion at his level.
Earlier, Anurag Thakur had written to the law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and requested him to raise the matter in Lok Sabha under rule 377 about establishment of circuit bench in Dharamsala. Law Minister had asked Thakur to raise the issue with Himachal Pradesh Government as per the recommendations made by Jaswant Singh Commission and also the decision of Supreme Court in the year 2000; informing that the Centre can establish a high court bench only after state government sends a complete proposal and chief justice of concerned high court also gives his assent to the proposal.
Thakur said that the Himachal Pradesh High Court bench at Dharamsala will facilitate the people of Kangra, Chamba, Hamirpur and other surrounding area and will save time and hard earned money of the people of region. He claimed that many times in the past electorates of Hamirpur and Bar Association had raised the matter with him.
Anurag Thakur had earlier in 15th Lok Sabha had also raised the demand this demand.
