New Delhi: The players of H.P Football Association led by its President Amit Pal Singh called on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh at New Delhi, today. The 20-member football team from the State is in New Delhi to participate in the National Level Santosh Trophy starting from 31 January.
The players requested the Chief Minister to allow synthetic grounds of Hamirpur and Una for playing football and also provide benefit in the government job to the police personnel’s participating in the Santosh Trophy.
While interacting with the players, Virbhadra Singh said that State government was committed to provide best infrastructural and coaching facilities to the players up to the village level. He said that a multipurpose sports stadium was being developed at Katasani near Shimla to facilitate various games with state of arts facilities including football.
The Chief Minister assured that their demand would be considered and a decision would be taken soon in this regard. He also wished the players success in the forthcoming tournament. V.C Pharka, Principal Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, was also present on the occasion.
