Umang Foundation organised a blood donation camp to mark Baisakhi and Jallianwala Massacre. As many as 110 persons donated blood to pay homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Massacre in Amritsar (1919). The Umang team also remembered the tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji on the foundation day of Khalsa Panth.
Senior blood donor and Public Health Officer of Shimla Municipal Corporation Dr. Omesh Bharti inaugurated the camp by donating blood. He said such camps play key role in creating awareness in the society. Puja Kanwar and Muhammad Ahmad Saifi, young members of Umang Foundation were first one to donate blood.
The youth team Umang Foundation including Sureder Kumar, Sarita Verma, Ankit Justa, Swati Chauhan, Vikram Zinta, Smriti, Meenu Chandel, Kusum Verma, Rajpal, Anupama Sartanta, Guddi Rani and Surender conducted the camp in the guidance of Yashwant Rai, General Secretary of the Foundation. Prof. A.D.N. Bajpai, Vice Chancellor of H.P. University and Maulana Nasibuddin Saifi visited the camp and lauded the work of the Foundation. Team from local Indira Gandhi Medical College Blood Bank collected the blood.
