Shimla: Ajay Mittal, Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India was given a warm farewell by the IAS Association of Himachal Pradesh here today.
Ajay Mittal, a 1982 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer, had served the State at different senior positions of the Government.
Ajay Mittal, in his address, asked fellow IAS officers to discharge their duties truthfully and work for the common man who has great expectations from the Government and the bureaucracy.
He also shared his experiences of administration and advised young officers to function dedicatedly in carrying forward their responsibilities.
He said that a lot could be done with little effort for the common masses by thinking and executing out of the box. He said the welfare schemes of the Government should be properly implemented for the welfare of the society. He said that even with constrained resources, it was important to build on the available resources to stand up to the expectations of people.
Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and other senior IAS officers were present on the occasion.
